Lib Dems win in Oadby Uplands

Local campaigner Samia Haq is the new Liberal Democrat councillor for Oadby Uplands Ward.
Samia polled 774 votes to 625 for the Conservative candidate in yesterday's by-election. Turnout was 40%.
Samia said, "I would like to thank everyone who supported for me during the by-election campaign for Oadby and Wigston Borough Council. I look forward to working with my fellow councillor John Vickerstaff to represent the residents of Uplands ward of all parties and none."
